Committee Introduction

Founded in 1977, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a specialized agency of the United Nations based in Rome, Italy devoted to ending extreme poverty and hunger around the globe. With 176 member-states, the IFAD funds numerous projects in order to lift communities out of poverty, promote sustainability in rural areas, and secure access to sufficient nutrition for all. IFAD also educates communities in financial techniques to help achieve this. Delegates will debate the intriguing and complex topics of Aquaculture and Environmental Changes as well as Rural Finance and Microenterprising. Though ideal for delegates of all skills, this committee is best suited for beginner to intermediate delegates.

Committee Staff

Linda Yan

Linda Yan is a sleep deprived and overextended junior at Bellevue High School and cannot be more excited to be your Director. Linda joined MUN during her freshman year and has since then fallen in love with it and staffed three conferences. Outside of MUN, she enjoys running cross country and track, painting, reading, and searching for the best boba shops in Seattle.

Claire Charvet

Claire Charvet is a junior at Juanita High School’s Cambridge Program and is thrilled to be your Chair! Claire fell in love with MUN at her first conference PACMUN 2018 and has since attended several other conferences and staffed PACMUN 2019. In her occasional free time, Claire enjoys playing the piano, reading anything she can get her hands on, avoiding her homework, and taking far too many pictures of her bunny.

Erika Ni

Assistant Director

Erika Ni is a current sophomore at Interlake High School in Bellevue and looks forward to being your Assistant Director! In Erika’s freshman year, she found herself drawn to MUN, hoped to gain confidence in public-speaking, & ended up attending multiple conferences. You can also find Erika playing soccer, not practicing the piano, volunteering, crying about IB & AP’s, & napping.
