Opinion: Too Big of an Ego?

With the passing of the British Prime Minister Margret Thatcher, the cabinet skipped past any mourning and began discussing further action against the IRA.

Although understandably, the governing of a country must continue, the cold stance of the cabinet would leave the British population traumatized. The Secretary of State for Industry claimed that pausing and taking a minute for mourning would be a, “Display of weakness not only to Northern Ireland but to the world as a whole”. Consequently, these sentiments were echoed by the Lord Privy Seal, Foreign Secretary and Home Secretary.

Did these Cabinet members have underlying interests supporting their decisions ?

The Home Secretary rapidly found himself in the running for the highly esteemed position of interim Prime Minister.

Moreover, once elected, it was decided that the interim Prime Minister position would be held under the Cabinet’s discretion. Indicating that only once the Cabinet deemed the time for elections to be fit, would the people be allowed to choose their own leaders. The people of Britain should be concerned, for if they are not careful they might as well find themselves living in hypocrisy.

Despite appearing to be superior to vulnerability, the Cabinet found itself unable to properly raise their hands in their zoom meeting and confusing their next courses of action. These Cabinet members can’t even manage the technology to communicate with one another, it is scary to think how these power hungry politicians will manage to lead this country.
